Fwd: Invitation to VBC PhD Symposium 2009
by Maciej Pasternacki 07 Jul '09

07 Jul '09

Hello, On 12-13 November there is "Android and Eve" symposium focused on biology/machine interfacing organized by Vienna Biocenter. Entry is free, everyone interested can go (you may as well put "Metalab" as your institution when registering). Please note, however, that it is organized by Biocenter and focused on molecular biologists, so presenters will probably assume some level of knowledge in biology. However this shouldn't be that hard and symposium may as well use some electronics and robotics-interested audience :) Details at http://www.androidandeve.com/ and in an e-mail forward below. Security by Candlelight, July 1st 19:30
by Michael Kafka 02 Jul '09

02 Jul '09

Ohai! Security by Candlelight is alive again: http://metalab.at/wiki/Security_bei_Kerzenschein When? Wednesday July 1st 2009 Where? Metalab "Library" Can I get there by Candlelight? How many miles to Babylon? Three score and ten. Can I get there by candlelight? Aye, and back again. If your feet are nimble and light You'll get there by candlelight. -- Nursery Rhyme Security sometimes seems like and endless journey But properly equipped it will be just like snapping with your fingers. I'm afraid we will not have a "Babylon Candle" to get there but at least it will be much more fun to travel together and talk about the things and wonders we see along the road. Bring your own Ideas not your own beer, we have plenty of beer/Club Mate in the fridge. We want your input and active participation, don't be shy you can do it! Security by Candlelight is not meant to be a workshop or a lecture type of event but a discussion and exchange around different aspects of security. We will meet roughly two times a week, dates will be published on the Metalab-Wiki and the Metalab Event List We hope to see a lot of people! Lynx, Naxx and MiKa
