by Philipp Schmid 17 Jan '08

17 Jan '08

by Peter Kuhm 17 Jan '08

17 Jan '08

[CfP] Co-creation, Co-Innovation and Open Innovation, ICE 2008, Lisbon, Portugal 23-25 June 2008
by Karin Kosina 17 Jan '08

17 Jan '08

// Forwarded message follows. In case of questions please contact // Anas Tawileh <m.a.tawileh(a)cs.cf.ac.uk> and not me. kthxbye. Call for Papers ICE'2008: the 14th International Conference on Concurrent Enterprising Lisbon - Portugal 23-25 June 2008 http://www.ice-conference.org/ Track: Co-creation, Co-Innovation and Open Innovation The unprecedented pace of technological development that characterises the 21st century, coupled with the increased connectedness of individuals and the democratisation of knowledge access and production tools have transformed the ways we interact, work, innovate and produce. The emerging Web 2.0 technologies, such as blogs, wikis, social tagging and social networking, are empowering consumers to make more informed decisions and to demand more value from suppliers. While this highly dynamic environment poses significant challenges to companies that strive to cope with the connected, informed and demanding consumer, it also offers unique opportunities to tap into the collective knowledge and wisdom of the consumers' communities to drive the innovation and product development process and to deliver products and services that satisfy the continuously changing requirements of the market. The Concurrent Enterprise is emerging as the new enterprise paradigm to capitalise on these opportunities and build the responsive firm of the future. Transforming traditional businesses into viable concurrent enterprises became an essential ingredient for survival in the new marketplace. Over the past few years, many companies have successfully adapted their internal processes and business models to embrace the new enterprise paradigm and have achieved remarkable success in establishing vibrant networks with business partners, customers and suppliers in order to exploit the massive amounts of creativity, knowledge and innovation created by these networks. This transformation requires a radical shift from the traditional approaches to business management and product research and development into more open, participatory and virtual structures. This track aims to explore the different issues and challenges that organisations face in embracing the emerging practices of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation. The concurrent enterprise concept has captured the attention of many researchers and practitioners. However, there is still limited efforts invested into research that examines the dynamics of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation, how they affect organisation structures, related management aspects, competitive advantage, business models and impact. We invite high quality contributions that address the issues related to co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation within the context of the concurrent enterprise. We strongly encourage research incorporating creative or new applications of theory, methodologies, and/or data sources. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to, the following: * Governance, leadership, and management in open innovation communities * Structures of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation communities * Competitive advantage of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation * Innovation processes in co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation communities * Limitations and disadvantages of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation * Knowledge management aspects * Sustainability of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation communities * Impact on management processes * Value sharing in concurrent enterprises * Metrics for measuring co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation * Collaboration mechanisms and platforms * Project management aspects * Innovation networks * Implications for corporate strategy * Business models * Legal issues * Adoption of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation * Case studies of successful implementations of co-creation, co-innovation and open innovation Important Deadlines: Paper submission: February 16, 2008 Notification of acceptance: March 5, 2008 Final copies due: March 20, 2008 Guidelines for Submissions: * Submit papers via email to Anas Tawileh (m.a.tawileh(a)cs.cf.ac.uk) by February 16, 2008. * Maximum printing length of all final papers is 8 pages, all inclusive (no exceptions) and in the correct format. Depending on the use of figures and bibliography this allows for 1800-2400 words. Describe clearly the purpose and relevance of the paper, references to existing theories and related works, research methods used and major results. * Accepted papers will be published in the scientific conference proceedings, provided the final papers and registration of at least one presenting author for the full conference are received before the appropriate deadline and they conform to the layout guidelines, which will be provided on www.ice-conference.org. The conference proceedings with ISBN number will be distributed to the participants at registration.

howto control windows position and size?
by jaume 15 Jan '08

15 Jan '08

Hi people, I have a midi controller and I get the events from the controller easily, using for example, puredata on linux box. What I want is to be able to open windows of applications with a concrete size and in a concrete place on the desktop. For some time I'm looking for graphic environments to do that, but I'm not so lucky. Any one know or have an idea about how can I do that? (is it clear what I ask for?) thanks jaume
