Hi Metalabers, A friendly request: does anybody have a bicycle bag to lend? I'm talking about the bag where you could put the bike in, the one that airlines are requiring when you take your bike with you on the plane. If anybody could lend it to me for a week or so, I could gladly pay you back by bringing some stuff you needed from London (this is where I am heading to), or by some glasses of Tschunk, or by something else -- as you prefer. Thanks in advance! Sergey

hi sergey i dont have such a bag, but i have recently been to london and they have a citywide bike-lending service just like viennas citybike now. maybe that comes cheaper that transporting your own bike there and back? best regards -flo

The bike won't come back. :) I need to transport it one way and will bring back the empty bag only (given that I will find one). Anwyay, thanks for the advice. S.
For a one-way trip, consider asking a bicycle store for an empty shipping box. They are made of sturdy cardboard, easily disposable at the destination, and usually free to have since the stores usually need to get rid of them anyway. The only drawback is that they are usually not a little less compact than 'true' bike bags or hard cases. Thank you very much for this advice. I called Ciclopia and they had exactly this kind of box. So the issue is solved. Thanks again, Sergey
