Hi, is there any Bank in Austria that has public APIs to get current balance and last transfers? I'm not interested in web scraping ways how to do it, I'm really interested if any bank here managed to develop and maintain official APIs. Thanks! Cheers Sepp
AFAIK all austrian banks have their own proprietary api which is incompatible with any open-source systems. If someone knows more, I'm happy if this is different now. H On Wed, Mar 21, 2012 at 13:19, Jozef Kutej <lists@kutej.net> wrote:

Hello! At least for easybank (BAWAG should be the same i guess, as they are using the same interfaces) there used to exist an MS Money 99 Interface. Since 1 or two years they turned it off and promoted a new software called Prosaldo Money from Haude ( http://www.haude.at/product.asp?newsID=1658 ). Someone on the Luga Mailinglist invested the time to capture the protocol and get it running with libaqbanking ( http://www.luga.at/mailing-lists/luga/2011/01/msg00097.html ). Unfortunately I cannot remember the full email which he posted as reference on the list on how to set it up, but I can supply you with this information since I got it running with this data using KMymoney and aqbanking (in this case $money_application should work as aqbanking is just a library). I hope this helps :-) Cheers Hannes On Wed, 21 Mar 2012 13:42:04 +0100, Harald Schilly wrote:

Hi! I can only tell you that my bank (Raiffeisen) has no API at all. I asked them about it, because I wanted to make a script that automatically moves 10% of everything that comes into my account to an extra savings accout. But with Raiffeisen this is not possible... I think you will not have a lot of luck with finding an banking API. Banks are not very modern companies.... But I think there is software you can buy for thousands of euros where you can make simple scripts for your bank account. Anton On 03/21/2012 01:19 PM, Jozef Kutej wrote:

It would be probably not really more expensive just to open your very small own bank. The government subsidizes opening a new company. And if your bank fails, you'll get recued by the taxpayer and probably even get your yearly bonus. Joking aside, from what i understand you can get electronic access to all transactions via some business accounts (from which you can calculate the current balance given a known starting value). I'm not sure if this works with Austrian banks, though... LG Rene
