What kind of camera do we need? It looks like these guys use a rather high-end CCTV camera with external framegrabber hardware. I can provide a rather low-end CCTV camera (CM212-L38) if that's useful. ~/= Marius -- We are Elektropeople for a better living.
that'd be great. they used a pretty expensive camera for it provided a higher contrast for frame-analyzing. rumour has it that philip already tested the grl software with a webcam, so i guess any camera that's capable of live streaming to the computer should do. uhm. afaik there was a test using a simple webcam with the house on the other side of the street and our small indoor beamer. but if we want to track a tiny laser spot in a longer distance then that 6 meters we should definatl get a real camera with good resolution and contrast settings in the dark that is capable of DIRECT video streaming. i have no idea about camers but kewagi told me once that this uber-l33t-tripple-chip-cam from judith can NOT do that. so i dont know WHAT it needs, HOW it is called and WHERE to get it. hits anyone? :* -flo

shoppinglist sez... (http://metalab.at/wiki/Laserguided_Graffiti_System) # 1 Watec 221S Security/Astrononmy Camera with manual iris zoom lens. * ~500$ - 1000$ # 1 Pinnacle PCTV USB capture card.
research sez: All you really need to do it is a camera with video output, tv tuner and projector if you want to. There's links to the program they use and the setup stuff around the site somewhere, I played around with it in february when i checked it out. Pretty fun to play with, and its more fun with a green laser : D -- found on http://www.hackaday.com/2007/05/26/interactive-laser-drawing-graffiti/ & Connect the camera to the usb capture card and the capture card to the PC. You can use Amcap to make sure you can capture video okay. -- on http://muonics.net/blog/index.php?postid=15 & alternativ I have compiled an app with S-Video support for those that asked. Put the new exe in the same folder as the old one (app/LASER_TEST_013_DAY1/bin) The app will try and capture via s-video. -- on http://muonics.net/blog/index.php?postid=15 ich hab kein plan was das alles heißt, kann jemand kameranesisch->hackerkauderwelsch überseten? Hi!
Die Cam die ich vorgeschlagen habe hat auch Firewire - Ist eine DVI-Cam mit Infrarot/Nachtsicht.. das ist sicher sehr brauchbar für den Laserpointer ;) Consti -- | \_____________________________ __ _ _ | Constantin Hofstetter | Tel: +49(0)8381-940425 | Mob: +43(0)699-11525989 | IM: (ICQ) 102573744; (AIM) consti2k; | Jabber: Constantin.Hofstetter@gmail.com; | Uniwien.de; Consti.de; Consti.at; hound.de; | PGP Key ID: 248AE7B6 | Consti@Consti.de \=============================== == = =
