Flight Controller Hackers for Airship?
Hi there, anybody fit with flight controllers? I want to build an airship with drone flight characteristics and need some help. There used to be one guy some years back playing around with that kind of thing intensively, don't remember his name ... Marius maybe? Can anybody share his contacts? Cheers, Markus
I build flying things, and worked with Marius a little bit on his drone project .. if you wanna meet at Metalab and have a flying thing workshop, I’m in .. just let me know when. ; -- Jay Vaughan seclorum@icloud.com

Hi Markus, I am working to use electroaerodynamic propulsion with an airship: http://www.riseflyorbit.org/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9yYu-ZM1S0 I have tried ArduPilot some time ago but settled for Raspberry Pi and PERL instead. I have code to read many sensors (Accelerometer, Barometer, GPS, Gyroscope, Magnetometer, Power, Therometer) and would only need a few hours to control a boat or an airship with two thrusters. I would be interested to join the flying things workshop so please let me know. Tom On 2018-12-19 16:59, Markus Kienast wrote:

Hi Tom, that sounds amazing! I myself am thinking about a hybrid between airship and drone. The former for the main lift and the latter for stability and manouvrability while keeping the area of attack for wind as lower than with a traditional airship. Are you a Metalab regular?
