Opinions to "WunderBar - Internet of Things Starter Kit" ?
WunderBar - Internet of Things Starter Kit for App Developers: Beacons (BLE) + Wifi + Sensors http://www.dragoninnovation.com/projects/35-wunderbar-by-relayr Could you please do me a favour and let me know your opinion? BR, B
The hardware is quite interesting! The announcement to put all the design documents on github is also a nice idea. But: Programming everything online and sending all the sensor data to a cloud service? I'd rather not... If the Hardware is available separately and completely independent of any external service or software I'd say nice for playing around. Possible use cases: upgrade our metasense. seems nice, but don't know whats the power consumption of the wifi chip. If you need to connect a battery-powered sensor wireless, a merkurboard from the "Automat" might be a good way. IPv6+CoAP over 802.15.4, but you will need another merkurboard(+usb-serial) to connect your PC/Server to the "node-cloud". A Raspberry Pi can connect directly to a merkurboard through the GPIO pins. cheers, Florian PS: merkurboard is free/open source, but most howtos are in german atm, but I want to translate them soon.
i wirte an german howto to connect a Raspberry Pi directly to a merkurboard. http://osdwiki.open-entry.com/doku.php/de:projekte:raspyedge-shield

my tunslip6 part with systemd on archlinuxarm needs some debugging, it's often doesn't work after reboot :/ cheers, Florian
TUVM for all your answers! As a hardware novice*) / newb it'll take some time to figure out what you've said & linked to ;) but I'm particularly delighted to read your comments. *) RAmen
