1) DIN SPEC Open Source Hardware
Vom Projektleiter Martin Häuer:
Die DIN SPEC kommt voraussichtlich im Juni.
https://www.din.de/de/forschung-und-innovation/din-spec/alle-geschaeftsplaene/wdc-beuth:din21:305669958

2) Open Hardware Fund
TU Berlin & OSE Germany are currently submitting a proposal to the EU for a Open Hardware Fund (OHF). This fund would, similar to the Prototype Fund: https://prototypefund.de/en/about-2/ support OSH projects – via mentors, contacts, distribution of results and of course financially; specifically: 2-3 calls for joint open hardware projects of SMEs and non-profits that address the negative consequences of the COVID-19 crisis in the next 12 to 18 months and guide these projects during implementation. DIN SPEC 3105 would be a crucial element of it as "being real OSH" is a central funding requirement. I don't want to go into details about the impact here - I feel you all can imagine how valuable a publicly funded Open Hardware Fund could be.
Until Tuesday 26-05 (next week), preferably earlier, we need sufficient official project partners or this application is dead (deadlines are tight right now, sorry :) ).
These partners need to be:
• European (so no UK :D)
• not German (as we have enough German partners already)
• a legal entity
o able to significantly contribute to this project, this is to demonstrate through some kind of reference (which should be as impressive as possible)
o list of positions to cover (min. 1 partner per position):
- Screening for key application areas and market research
- Structuring of call themes and selection criteria
- Jury evaluations process
- Mentoring of projects (entrepreneurial and maker focus) + contract management + admin
- Technical infrastructure support + openness assessment
- Communications and public relations
